What We Add to Our Water

I admit, I was a bleach junkie … I wanted my laundry looking bright and white, and what about cleaning those stains from my kitchen counter — what about killing germs and bacteria? What I now know is that I had not been cleaning my home at all — I was polluting it with a variety of toxins. Cascade, Comet, Clorox, and my choice of what ever laundry detergent was on sale, are all poisonous. I had been adding things to water that just don’t belong. After reading countless studies about common household cleaners here’s the bottom line: If it’s not biodegradable … it does not belong in your home. After exploring the evidence and shopping the options, I made a switch to biodegradable cleaning products. I found a laundry detergent that not only gives me pearly white clothes but saves me money too — it’s super-concentrated. Even more eye opening was the discovery that my old dishwasher detergent, Cascade, was leaving a poisonous residue on my dishes. (you know, the dishes we eat off of and drink from) Now, I have a dishwasher detergent that is super-concentrated; one bottle replaces four bottles of Cascade.

Switching to biodegradable products is one big step you can take for your family and the environment. Here’s a few of my most favorites. My family takes advantage of quantity discounts through a family cooperative that offers natural cleaning products for those living near Iowa City . Contact me for details.
